Front Running the Mind
Life starts at the psychological level
Everything starts at the psychological level. The body is just a follower, a responder, a reflection of what's happening in the mind.
Take a look at any addict. The alcoholic isn’t addicted to the taste of vodka (the physical). He’s addicted to the silence it brings (the psychological). The gambler isn’t addicted to losing money. He’s addicted to feeling something, anything, even if it’s the freefall.
Everything is psychological first. The body bends to the chaos of the mind. It reacts, reshapes, and adjusts according to the world the mind perceives. When the mind is under pressure, the body responds accordingly. When the mind is comfortable, the body follows suit. This is how human beings have always operated, and yet contemporary society still fails to understand it.
This is why I laugh at men jumping on TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy), steroids, and all this biohacking nonsense. You can’t front-run the mind. Testosterone is a stress hormone. It spikes in response to challenge, to danger, to a life that demands more from you. It is not something you inject and suddenly become a man. The body does not work that way. It never has.
It irks me when I see people state that young men have low testosterone levels because I know anyone who says that, is an idiot. They do not think. Of course testosterone levels are declining, we’re living in the most comfortable time in human history. Why would you need high testosterone levels in modern times? Comfortable environments to lead to reduced physiological responses.
Why does a man in prison pack on muscle with no equipment and no perfect diet? Because his mind knows he is in danger. His body listens. His nervous system is constantly on high alert. His body prepares for the worst because his mind is constantly in survival mode. His environment dictates his reality, and his body follows suit. That is how testosterone works. That is how muscle is built.
Why does a war veteran’s face transform? Why do his eyes hollow out, his jawline sharpen, his entire presence shift? Because his psyche has been through hell. His body armours up accordingly. He is no longer the same person he was before. His mind has changed, and his physical form reflects that change. Trauma etches itself into the body. It alters the very structure of a man. You can see it in his posture, in his walk, in the way he carries himself. No injection in the world replicates that. No supplement can manufacture the real thing.

A soldier's face before and after World War II: 1941 vs. 1945.
You think you can trick your psychology through the physical? You think your soul doesn’t know you’re a slave to some screen, swiping away like a trained monkey? You think taking some bullshit supplement off Amazon is going to overwrite the reality that nothing in your life is demanding more from you? You think you can artificially induce what being a man is while living a life that requires nothing from you?
The body does not dictate reality. The mind does. The body is a consequence of the psychological, nothing more. People believe they can engineer their way out of psychological decay, as if a chemical shortcut will override the reality of who and what they are. But the mind knows. It knows when you are weak. It knows when you are stagnant. It knows when your environment is hostile and when it is sterile. The body follows the mind’s assessment, not the other way around.
Everything real in life begins at the level of the mind. The body is a delayed response to whatever psychological state it exists in. As I said, it is why soldiers come back unrecognizable. It is why men who go through extreme stress either crumble or become something else entirely. The body is not leading the charge. It is simply keeping up.
The modern obsession with physical shortcuts ignores this reality. People want to force the body into an illusion of strength while the mind remains safe. They want the appearance of something rather than the thing itself. But it does not work that way. The body cannot override the truth. The mind dictates, and the body obeys. Good luck trying to “gym” your way through that.
Everything starts at the psychological level. Everything else is just posturing.
